A proud day for Icon

We hosted a very special ceremony to receive our Queens Awards for Enterprise.

When the 2016 winners were announced on The Queen’s 90th birthday this year, we were absolutely delighted to find out that we had won the Queens Awards for Enterprise in the field of International Trade. The awards are made annually by The Queen, and are only given for the highest level of excellence and it is a real honour to win one.

It is testament to the Icon team’s hard work and commitment, that we were able to win such a prestigious award for our phenomenal growth in overseas trade over the last 3 years. We’re so lucky to have such a fantastic crew of people working at Icon and it’s important to recognise each and every one of them for their efforts, because it’s their dedication and talent that makes the company such a success.

On Wednesday 9th November 2016, we were joined by the Queen’s Representative, Vice Lord-Lieutenant Tim Hare, to present us with for the award. We welcomed them with a tour of the factory and invited them to meet the team before we all gathered for the ceremony.

After a short speech from Icon’s MD, Jon Wesson, we were congratulated by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant on behalf of Her Majesty for our success in winning the highly-contested award and a formal citation was read to the workforce. We then received a beautiful crystal Rose Bowl to commemorate our win and a certificate signed by The Queen.

Each team member was then presented with their own specially designed Queens Award Mug as a small token of thanks for all their hard work and as a memento of this important celebration.

A huge thank you too, to all of our clients all over the world who have worked with us over the last three years and have been instrumental in our international growth.
